Book trailers are a great way to create interest in your books. Similar to movie trailers, books trailers usually give a visual synopsis (using words and images) of the book.  I've created two trailers for my books, Nothing I Can Say and What Was Missing.

The Nothing I Can Say trailer was done with the iMovie app on my phone, which I then uploaded to YouTube.  The What Was Missing trailer was my first trailer and was created manually with the iMovie program on my laptop.

I was on the fence about creating book trailers and after I created them I was apprehensive about sharing them because I didn't think they matched the grandiose vision in my head. Lol! But I think both these trailers capture the essence of the books. Take a look:

Saturday, May 2nd I hosted a small reception for a few friends and enthusiastic supporters to celebrate my new book, What Was Missing. I plan on having a larger event later this summer but I wanted to do something to commemorate the book release.

The event was held at The Woman's Earth Nurturing Studio in Houston. On the menu chicken pesto pasta, chocolate chip cookies and delicious vegan cupcakes. Along with infused water and mixed berry punch.

LCD Photobooth provided fun photobooth services and I did a reading from the books as well as signed some of the purchased copies.

It was a fun filled afternoon and I was overwhelmed by the love and support from those in attendance! This entire journey has been a humbling experience and I have learned SO MUCH!! I feel this entire experience has changed me forever. (In a good way!)

I still have some editing to do and comments to review from beta readers but I went ahead and ordered a copy of my book to make sure the layout and physical copy is good, so that I have more than enough time to make all the necessary changes before the May release date. 

Seeing this tangible book in my hands....the feeling is indescribable. I am filled with extreme joy and I am looking so forward to this journey and sharing my work with the world!
